Judge Dismisses Consumer Protection Claims Against Window Maker, Seller

Mealey's (May 9, 2016, 9:21 AM EDT) -- GULFPORT, Miss. — A federal judge in Mississippi on May 5 dismissed with prejudice a claim brought by plaintiffs alleging that a window manufacturer and seller violated the Mississippi Consumer Protection Act (MCPA), ruling that the plaintiffs failed to make a reasonable attempt to settle their dispute by using a program approved by the state’s attorney general (Joan Cravens Inc., et al. v. Deas Construction Inc., et al., No. 15-cv-385-KS-MTP, S.D. Miss.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 59788).
