Groups Amend Fracking Lease Action, Say Alternatives To Protect Land Not Analyzed

(May 9, 2016, 7:36 AM EDT) -- SALT LAKE CITY — A collection of environmental groups on April 15 filed a second amended complaint against the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) and added a cause of action alleging violation of specific sections of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), regarding the agency’s alleged failure to consider leasing alternatives to protect wilderness areas (Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, et al. v. U.S. Department of the Interior, et al., No. 15-00194, D. Utah).
