New Biological Opinion Ordered In Columbia River Endangered Fish Protection Case

(May 6, 2016, 2:36 PM EDT) -- PORTLAND, Ore. — An Oregon federal judge on May 4 directed the National Marine Fisheries Service of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (the NOAA Fisheries) to file a new biological opinion about whether the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) violated the Endangered Species Act with respect to migrating salmonids on the Columbia River in Oregon (National Wildlife Federation, et al. v. National Marine Fisheries Service, et al., No. 01-640, D. Ore.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 59195).
