Company Named As Defendant Is Not Proper Defendant Under ERISA, Federal Judge Says
(May 6, 2016, 11:37 AM EDT) -- FRANKFORT, Ky. — A Kentucky federal judge on April 28 dismissed a disability claimant’s suit against a company that issued a medical opinion regarding the claimant’s disability because the company is not a proper defendant under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (James W. Hackney v. AllMed Healthcare Management Inc., No. 15-75, E.D. Ky.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 57341).
