Government Wrongly Leased More Than 20,000 Acres For Fracking, Groups Say
(May 5, 2016, 2:38 PM EDT) -- ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A collection of environmental groups on May 3 sued the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and other government entities in federal court, seeking declaratory and injunctive relief for the BLM’s decision to lease more than 20,000 acres of national forest land for hydraulic fracturing (San Juan Citizens Alliance, et al. v. U.S. Bureau of Land Management, et al., No. 16-376, D. N.M.).
