Abilify Gets New Warnings For Compulsive Behaviors

(May 4, 2016, 8:29 AM EDT) -- SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration on May 3 said it is adding new warnings to aripiprazole antipsychotic drugs for compulsive eating, shopping and sex.

Aripiprazole is sold as Abilify, Abilify Mantena and Aristada.

The FDA said that pathological gambling is already listed as a reported side effect on the current aripiprazole label but that “this description does not entirely reflect the nature of the impulse-control risk FDA identified.”
