Putative Class Of 500 Tells EPA It Plans To Sue For Negligence In Flint, Mich.

(May 2, 2016, 9:17 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — An attorney in Flint, Mich., on April 25 issued a formal notice of a class action administrative complaint against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regarding the agency’s handling of the lead water crisis in Flint.

The EPA has six months to respond to the notice. Depending on the agency’s response, the matter will either move toward a settlement or the plaintiffs will file a formal lawsuit in federal court, the attorney says.
