Patent Board Denies Request For Covered Business Method Review
(April 29, 2016, 7:23 AM EDT) -- ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A petitioner has failed to demonstrate that an invention covering a system for soliciting “page-specific” feedback from website users qualifies as a “covered business method patent” (CBM) as defined by Section 18(d)(1) of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (AIA), the Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled April 13 (Qualtrics LLC v. OpinionLab Inc., No. CBM2016-00003, PTAB).
