Football Team Asks High Court To Review ‘Redskins’ Trademark Name Defense
(April 28, 2016, 2:06 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A professional football team in an April 25 petition asks the U.S. Supreme Court to consider reviewing the owners’ legal right to the exclusive use of the team name “Redskins” before an appellate court decides on it, if the court takes up a similar trademark appeal by the federal government (Pro-Football, Inc. v. Amanda Blackhorse, et al., No. 15-1311, U.S. Sup.).
