Cherokee Nation, Officials Urge Dismissal Of Worker’s Whistle-Blower Action

Mealey's (April 28, 2016, 8:20 AM EDT) -- TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation and tribal officials on April 26 filed two motions to dismiss an employee’s retaliation claims on various grounds, including lack of jurisdiction due to the tribe’s sovereign immunity and failure to state a valid claim (David Comingdeer v. Cherokee Nation, et al., No. CV-16-180, D. Cherokee Nation).
