Pennsylvania Fracking Measures Would Insure Water Wells, Approve Gas Exploration

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 11:56 AM EDT) -- HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania House of Representatives on May 5 referred to committee two pieces of legislation concerning hydraulic fracturing in the state. One would establish a water well insurance fund to protect well owners from costs associated with contamination from fracking, and the other would authorize the state to conduct a study on the issue of expanding the availability of natural gas to homes, businesses, nonprofit organizations and units of government in the state.
