FDA Reviewing Study Linking Diflucan To Miscarriage In Pregnant Women

(April 26, 2016, 11:07 AM EDT) -- SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration on April 26 said it is evaluating a Danish study that found a possible increased risk of miscarriage by pregnant women who took Diflucan-brand fluconazole antifungal for yeast infections.

The agency said it is also reviewing additional data.

The FDA said the current label for Diflucan does not suggest an increased risk of problems during pregnancies or abnormalities in developing babies when women took a single 150-milligram dose to treat vaginal yeast infections. The agency said doses...
