Group: Court Should Order Agency To Revise Offshore Drilling Permit Procedures

(April 21, 2016, 2:53 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — An environmental advocacy group on April 20 sued U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell in a District of Columbia federal court, seeking a declaration that the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) must take action on the group’s petition requesting that the DOI substantially revise its procedures for authorizing offshore oil and gas activities (Center for Biological Diversity v. Sally Jewell, et al., No. 16-00738, D. D.C.).
