Union, Apprentice Program To Pay $1.65M To Settle Decades-Old EEOC Claims

(April 21, 2016, 9:04 AM EDT) -- NEW YORK — A New York federal judge on April 12 signed off on a $1.65 million settlement agreement and consent order, ending part of decades-old claims filed against Local 25 of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association and its associated apprenticeship school alleging racial discrimination (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, et al. v. Local 638, et al., No. 71-2877, S.D. N.Y.).
