Township: Company Lacks Standing To Challenge Fracking Ordinance

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 11:06 AM EDT) -- PITTSBURGH — The Pennsylvania municipality sued by a hydraulic fracturing company that contends that a local ordinance banning fracking is “patently illegal” on April 21 filed a brief in federal court, contending that the company lacks standing to bring its claim and that even if the ordinance were found to be illegal, the company lacks the proper permit for the type of fracking well in question (Seneca Resources Corporation v. Highland Township, Elk County, Pa., et al., No. 15-00060, W.D. Pa.).
