Texas High Court: Fracking Defamation Claim Valid As To 1 Member Of Married Couple
Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 10:59 AM EDT) -- AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Supreme Court on April 24 unanimously ruled that a hydraulic fracturing company’s claim for defamation stood against the husband of a married couple who contended that the company was liable for contaminating the couple’s water well but held that the defamation claim did not stand against the wife and the couple’s environmental consultant (In Re: Steven Lipsky, No. 13-0928, Texas Sup.; 2015 Tex. LEXIS 350).
