Home Health Care Agency Owner Sentenced To 57 Months For Fraud Scheme

(April 14, 2016, 9:24 AM EDT) -- DETROIT — The owner of a home health care agency in Detroit on April 5 was sentenced by a federal judge in Michigan to 57 months in prison and ordered to pay $3.4 million in restitution for illegally paying physicians and recruiters to refer Medicare beneficiaries to his business (United States of America v. Walayat Khan, et al., No. 13-cr-20892, E.D. Mich.).
