Judge Approves Payments To States’ Insurance Guarantors

(April 11, 2016, 7:59 AM EDT) -- CHICAGO — An Illinois judge on March 18 approved a liquidator’s final recommendation of payments to certain states’ insurance guaranty funds and associations (In the Matter of the Liquidation of Statewide Insurance Company, No. 04-CH-00150, Ill. Cir., Cook Co.).

Statewide Insurance Co. was declared insolvent by the Cook County Circuit Court and placed into liquidation on Jan. 6, 2004. The state’s then director of insurance, J. Anthony Clark, was appointed as Statewide’s liquidator.
