Liquidator Seeks Approval To Settle Asbestos Claims For $1.6 Million

(April 11, 2016, 7:53 AM EDT) -- CONCORD, N.H. — The liquidator of an insolvent insurer asked a New Hampshire court on March 23 to approve the $1.6 million settlement of certain asbestos-related claims allegedly covered by policies issued in the 1960s and 1970s (In the Matter of the Liquidation of The Home Insurance Company, No. 03-E-0106, N.H. Sup., Merrimack Co.).

The Merrimack County Superior Court placed the Home Insurance Co. into liquidation on June 11, 2013, and assigned the state’s insurance commissioner as liquidator.
