Colorado High Court Will Hear Case About Retroactive Taxes On Oil And Gas Leases

(April 11, 2016, 7:45 AM EDT) -- DENVER — The Colorado Supreme Court on Feb. 29 agreed to hear a case involving the retroactive assessment of property taxes on the value of oil and gas leaseholds that were omitted due to the underreporting of the selling price of oil and gas by a hydraulic fracturing company that uses carbon dioxide mined in Colorado for enhanced oil recovery in Texas (Kinder Morgan CO2 Co. LP v. Montezuma County Board of Commissioners, et al., No. 15SC595, Colo. Sup.).
