Group: North Carolina’s Agency, Fracking Rules ‘Unconstitutional’

Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 10:39 AM EDT) -- RALEIGH, N.C. — Plaintiffs who sued the State of North Carolina contending that the state’s Mining and Energy Commission (MEC) passed unconstitutional regulations regarding the extraction of natural gas using hydraulic fracturing on April 14 moved in state court for a preliminary injunction requesting an expedited hearing on whether the regulations are adequate to protect drinking water (Haw River Assembly, et al. v. Vikram Rao, et al., No. 15-000127, N.C. Super., Wake Co.).
