Shinnecock Nation Seeks Certiorari For 2nd Circuit’s Summary Laches Ruling

(April 6, 2016, 6:59 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals’ summary dismissal of the Shinnecock Indian Nation’s attempt to reclaim thousands of acres of land in New York conflicts with a U.S. Supreme Court decision and is unconstitutional, the tribe says in a March 25 petition for writ of certiorari in the high court (Shinnecock Indian Nation v. State of New York, et al., No. 15-1215, U.S. Sup.; 2016 U.S. S. Ct. Briefs LEXIS 1437).

(Petition for writ of certiorari available. Document #96-160408-050B.)
