Dickey’s Barbecue: State Regulator ‘Forced’ It To Include Arbitration Clause

Mealey's (April 6, 2016, 2:16 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an April 1 reply brief in support of a petition for writ of certiorari filed with the U.S. Supreme Court, Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc. asserts that it was “forced to” include a prohibition of arbitration clause in a franchise agreement by a Maryland regulator as a condition of doing business in the state (Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc., et al. v. Chorley Enterprises Inc., et al., No. 15-719, U.S. Sup.; 2016 U.S. S. Ct. Briefs LEXIS 1480).
