Judge Trims Negligence, Trade Practices Claims From Suit Against Home Builder
Mealey's (April 6, 2016, 1:12 PM EDT) -- OPELIKA, Ala. — A federal judge in Alabama on April 4 awarded summary judgment to a home builder on a couple’s claims for negligence, suppression and deceptive trade practices, ruling that the defendant could not be held liable for damages stemming from vinyl siding that was defectively installed by subcontractors (Nicholas Atkinson, et al. v. Jeff Lindsey Communities Inc., et al., No. 14-cv-1132-WHA, M.D. Ala.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 45104).
