Government Says It Has Authority To Make Federal Fracking Rule

(April 5, 2016, 1:59 PM EDT) -- CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) on April 4 filed a brief in Wyoming federal court, arguing that it has the authority to promulgate the federal rule on hydraulic fracturing and that the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) has made the rule applicable to Indian lands (State of Wyoming v. U.S. Department of the Interior, et al., No. 15-00043, D. Wyo.).
