South Carolina Judge: No Coverage Owed To Company Successor Under Policies
Mealey's (April 5, 2016, 12:10 PM EDT) -- CHARLESTON, S.C. — A South Carolina state judge on March 23 dismissed a corporate successor’s claims against a number of insurers after determining that the successor has no rights under the predecessor’s policies because the policies were expired when the new company was purchased and there was no assignment of rights to the insurance policies (PCS Nitrogen Inc. v. Continental Casualty Co., et al., No. 11-CP-10-387, S.C. Comm. Pls., 9th Cir.).
