Star Argues To High Court: Cheerleader Uniforms Cannot Be Copyrighted

(March 31, 2016, 3:47 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — A garment is a "useful article" that cannot be copyrighted, Star Athletica LLC argues in a March 23 brief in further support of its petition urging the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a ruling that cheerleading uniforms can be copyrighted (Star Athletica, LLC v. Varsity Brands, Inc., et al., No. 15-866, U.S. Sup.).
