PTO Director: No Error In Claim Construction Standard For AIA Review

(March 31, 2016, 3:04 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — An appellate court did not err in finding that Congress approved use of a patent claim construction standard for Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (AIA) reviews, the director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) argues in a March 23 brief to the U.S. Supreme Court (Cuozzo Speed Technologies, LLC v. Michelle K. Lee, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director, Patent and Trademark Office, No. 15-446, U.S. Sup.).
