Colorado Initiative On Local Control Over Fracking May Proceed, Official Says

(March 31, 2016, 12:56 PM EDT) -- DENVER — The Colorado secretary of State’s title board on March 16 approved a petition filed by a community rights group seeking to place an initiative on the November ballot that would give local communities control over hydraulic fracturing.

The measure, Initiative 40, would amend the state constitution and enact the right of self-government for all municipalities in Colorado, specifically to prevent the state from preempting local opposition to fracking.
