Mealey's (March 30, 2016, 1:17 PM EDT) -- CHICAGO — A federal magistrate judge in Illinois on March 28 refused to allow the owner of a senior living center to amend its negligence claim in a construction defects lawsuit, explaining that a construction company’s installation of an incorrect vapor barrier that led to water infiltration did not result in a dangerous occurrence that could be considered an exemption to the economic loss doctrine (Friendship Village of Mill Creek v.
