Judge: Man’s $9M Wrongful Death Claim Against Fracking Company Lacks Jurisdiction
Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 10:03 AM EDT) -- FORT WORTH, Texas — The federal magistrate judge in Texas presiding over a lawsuit filed by a man who sought $9 million from a hydraulic fracturing company that he contended was liable for the wrongful death of his mother dismissed the case March 4 for lack of subject matter jurisdiction (Daniel W. Nicholson v. XTO/Exxon Energy Inc., No. 13-899, N.D. Texas).
