Federal Judge: Insurer Not Liable For $275,825 Legal Malpractice Judgment
Mealey's (March 28, 2016, 12:41 PM EDT) -- DAYTON, Ohio — An Ohio federal judge on March 24 held that a professional liability insurer has no duty to cover a $275,825.29 judgment against its attorney insured because the underlying legal malpractice claim was not timely filed (David C. McCarty, et al. v. National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA, et al., No. 15-247, S.D. Ohio; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 39526).
