Virginia Jury Awards $6.5M In Asbestos Case Against John Crane Inc.

(March 24, 2016, 1:42 PM EDT) -- NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Virginia jury on March 4 awarded a man and his wife $6.5 million and found John Crane Inc. liable for exposing the man to asbestos in the U.S. Navy (George and Peggy Parker v. John Crane, No. CL1402913F-15, Va. Cir., Newport News).

George Parker worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard from 1963 to 1968 and again from 1970 to 1974. During this time, Parker regularly repaired valves and pumps aboard Navy vessels.
