Bankruptcy Court Erred In Lifting Stay For Asbestos Claimants, Judge Finds

(March 24, 2016, 12:35 PM EDT) -- CHICAGO — An Illinois federal judge on March 18 reversed a bankruptcy court’s decision to lift the automatic stay in the Chapter 11 case of D/C Distribution LLC to allow eight individuals to litigate their asbestos personal injury claims against D/C after finding that the court failed to provide the reasons for its ruling (In re: D/C Distribution LLC, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company v. Larry Sublett, et al., Nos. 15-5092, 15-5146 and 15-5150, N.D. Ill.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 34971).
