Justices Deny Certiorari In Dispute Over Utah Reservation Boundaries

Mealey's (March 23, 2016, 10:57 AM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Supreme Court on March 21 declined to review a ruling by the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals that three Utah counties say flies in the face of a 1994 Supreme Court finding that Congress has reduced the size of the Ute Indian reservation since it was created in the 1880s (Wasatch County, Utah, et al. v. Ute Indian Tribe, No. 15-640; Uintah County, Utah, et al. v. Ute Indian Tribe, No. 15-641, U.S. Sup.).
