Bar Owner Not Liable For Preventing Drunken Patron From Driving, Florida Panel Says
(March 22, 2016, 9:54 AM EDT) -- WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A bar owner cannot be held liable for negligence for preventing a drunken patron from driving while intoxicated because the business was protected from liability under Florida law, the Fourth District Florida Court of Appeal said March 9 (Stephanie de la Torre, et al. v. Flanigan’s Enterprises Inc., d/b/a Flanigan’s Bar and Grill, No. 4D15-195, Fla. App., 4th Dist.; 2016 Fla. App. LEXIS 3606).
