Environmental Groups Urge California Governor To Ban Hydraulic Fracturing
Mealey's (June 18, 2015, 8:51 AM EDT) -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A group of environmental advocacy organizations on Feb. 26 sent a petition to California Gov. Gerry Brown asking him to use his emergency powers “under the duties of the governor’s office to protect Californians from imminent threats to public health and safety” by implementing an immediate statewide moratorium on hydraulic fracturing and other forms of well stimulation.
