Class Certification Ruling In Conflict With High Court Mandate, Chamber Argues

(March 18, 2016, 12:10 PM EDT) -- NEW ORLEANS — A federal district court erred in partially granting a motion for class certification in a securities class action lawsuit because the court’s reasoning is in direct conflict with U.S. Supreme Court mandate, the Chamber of Commerce of the United States argues in an amicus curiae brief filed in the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals on Feb. 16 (Erica P. John Fund Inc. v. Halliburton Co., No. 15-90038, 5th Cir.).
