Mortgage Dispute Sent To State Court Due To Questions About Amount Owed
(March 18, 2016, 10:49 AM EDT) -- LOS ANGELES — A California federal judge on March 4 sent a dispute over an allegedly unpaid mortgage back to state court, finding that a loan servicer’s refusal to prove the amount owed leaves doubts as to whether the case meets the jurisdictional minimum (Mark S. Cornwall v. BSI Financial Services, Inc., d/b/a Servis One, Inc., et al., No. 15-9850, C.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 28055).
