Companies Tell High Court Not To Reject Copyrights On Cheerleader Uniforms

(March 17, 2016, 2:30 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Producers of cheerleading uniforms argue to the U.S. Supreme Court in a March 4 brief that two-dimensional graphic designs are eligible for copyright because they are "like fabric design[s]" that are easily separable from cheerleading uniforms and other clothing (Star Athletica, LLC v. Varsity Brands, Inc., et al., No. 15-866, U.S. Sup.).
