Former Appellate Judges Urge U.S. High Court To Grant Petition On Recusal

(March 15, 2016, 2:15 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON D.C. — A group of former judges and justices from state supreme courts on Feb. 29 filed an amicus curiae brief in the U.S. Supreme Court urging the high court to consider whether an Illinois Supreme Court justice who voted to reverse a $10 billion verdict against a tobacco company should have recused himself from the vote because of statements he made about tobacco cases before being elected (Sharon Price and Michael Furth v.
