California Federal Judge Tosses Pet Food Labeling Class Suit

Mealey's (March 14, 2016, 12:38 PM EDT) -- SANTA ANA, Calif. — Pet food makers have no duty to disclose the possibility that some of the seafood used in their products was caught by boats using forced labor, a California federal judge ruled Feb. 5, dismissing a California false advertising law suit brought by consumers (Christina Wirth, et al. v. Mars Inc., et al., No. 15-1470, C.D. Calif.; 2016 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 14552).
