9th Circuit Reinstates UCL Class Suit Over Hain’s ‘Natural’ Labeling

(March 14, 2016, 12:20 PM EDT) -- PASADENA, Calif. — A Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel on Feb. 22 reversed the dismissal of a putative California unfair competition law (UCL) class action lawsuit brought against The Hain Celestial Group Inc. alleging that the company improperly uses the word “natural” on some of its packaging because those products contain synthetic ingredients (Alessandra Balser, et al. v. The Hain Celestial Group, Inc., No. 14-55074, 9th Cir.; 2016 U.S. App. LEXIS 3061).
