Federal Appeals Panel Declines To Intervene In Medicare Appeals Dispute
(March 9, 2016, 4:38 PM EST) -- RICHMOND, Va. — A federal appeals panel on March 7 declined to order U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to address a service provider’s Medicare reimbursement appeals, saying that while the “grotesque” process places the entire system in a “grave condition,” it requires a political and not judicial solution (Cumberland County Hospital System Inc. d/b/a Cape Fear Valley Health System v. Sylvia Mathews Burwell, et al., No. 15-1393, 4th Cir.).
