EPA: County Agrees To Pay $20,000 For Clean Water Act Violations

(March 9, 2016, 9:08 AM EST) -- LENEXA, Kan. — A regional office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced March 2 that Franklin County, Kan., agreed to pay a $20,000 civil penalty for violating the Clean Water Act (CWA) after investigators found solid waste in a county landfill’s storm drains.
