Company’s Case ‘Moot,’ Says Municipality; Fracking Rule Did Not Violate Rights

Mealey's (March 7, 2016, 7:20 AM EST) -- PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania municipality sued by a hydraulic fracturing company for passing an ordinance that prohibits underground injection control (UIC) wells filed a brief Feb. 29 in Pennsylvania federal court contending that the company’s motion for summary judgment should be denied because its facial constitutional claims are “moot” (Pennsylvania General Energy Company LLC v. Grant Township, No. 14-209, W.D. Pa.).
