Report: Canadian Province Could Gain Up To $300M In Revenue From Fracking

(March 4, 2016, 1:00 PM EST) -- FREDERICTON, New Brunswick — The New Brunswick Commission on Hydraulic Fracturing (NBCHF) on Feb. 26 released a report that predicts that the government will receive revenue from hydraulic fracturing of between $200 million and $300 million by the 11th year of production.

The commission also concluded that before drilling begins in New Brunswick, the government should appoint an independent fracking regulator and develop a royalty structure that “encourages responsible development and promotes specific government priorities.”
