Amicus Curiae Filers Seek Rejection Of Copyrights On Cheerleader Uniforms

(March 3, 2016, 4:46 PM EST) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — Amicus curiae filers in Feb. 5 briefs support Star Athletica LLC’s petition that Congress never intended garments to be protected by copyrights and that the U.S. Supreme Court should reverse a ruling that cheerleading uniforms can be copyrighted (Star Athletica, LLC v. Varsity Brands, Inc., et al., No. 15-866, U.S. Sup.).
