Washington Appellate Panel Affirms Summary Judgment For Port In Negligence Suit

(March 1, 2016, 3:06 PM EST) -- TACOMA, Wash. — A Washington appellate panel on Feb. 23 affirmed a lower court’s grant of summary judgment to a county port in a case in which a man tripped on a trail owned by the port, finding that the port was entitled to immunity under the state’s recreational use statute (John A. Hively v. Port of Skamania County, Washington, No. 46875-1-II.,Wash. App., 2nd Div.; 2016 Wash. App. LEXIS 228).
