Federal Jury Clears BP Supervisor Of Violating Clean Water Act

(February 29, 2016, 9:52 AM EST) -- NEW ORLEANS — A federal jury in Louisiana on Feb. 25 cleared a BP Exploration & Production Inc. supervisor who was on board the Deepwater Horizon oil rig of violating the Clean Water Act (CWA) (United States of America v. Robert Kaluza, No. 12-cr-00265, E.D. La.).

Following a two-week trial, a jury cleared Robert Kaluza of one misdemeanor charge of violating the CWA. According to published reports, the jury deliberated for less than two hours before reaching its decision.
